As the society is advancing by leaps and bounds, the attitude different genders adopt towards their occupations has undergone a noticeable and far-reaching transformation. Under this circumstance, an absolute consensus can hardly be reached whether males and females should engage in different jobs based on their different qualities. For my part, I side with advocates to a larger extent.
It has to be admitted that with the popularity of education, the notion of equality between both genders have found its own way into every corner of each industry and field. Many positions previously open to the males alone can also be occupied by the females in contemporary society and the latter are equipped with enough ability to perform these tasks as perfectly as the former, which can be further illustrated with the example that例如 the presidents of the countries in increasing number are the females and this can never be imagined in the past.
However, much heavier weight should be attached to(更加關注) the fact that the malesare inclined to(傾向于) be physically stronger than their counterparts so that they are more suitable to some physically demanding jobs such as workers in construction sites and long-distance truck drivers. Meanwhile, the men are typically more reasonable thinkers, making them better suited for analytical professions. As a matter of fact, involving in the jobs which can keep in line with people’s characters tend to tap their potential to the fullest extent(充分激發(fā)潛力).
In addition, the vast majority(絕大多數) of the females are characterized by(以---為特點) patience, which leads to the fact that more primary schools and hospitals consider the females as the best candidates for teachers and nurses. Simultaneously, the females are more organizational in arranging various things and possess stronger interpersonal skills when interacting with strangers so that they should qualify for the professions like secretaries and shop assistants. Accordingly, it does not make sense to achieve the balance of both sexes in workplace through pursuing so-call gender equality.
In light of the analysis mentioned above, I am convinced that gender stereotypes should be challenged, especially in this day and age, but we cannot become blind to the innate difference between both sexes in terms of physical and mental qualities. As long as people is sufficiently capable of performing their tasks, gender should only act as minor element rather than decisive one.
